THE PRESIDENT

The founder, Orlando Carrillo Maffei grew up in a construction environment under the instruction of his father, Orlando Carrillo Leon. Mr. Leon was the Director of The Department Public Works in San Cristobal, Venezuela from 1966 to 1974. In 1975, Orlando Sr. founded CONCECA, a construction company that has provided consulting and heavy construction services for over forty years. In 2006, our founder and president suffered a spinal cord injury that paralyzed one of his legs. Despite this, he kept working towards his goals. He was offered an athletic scholarship at the University of Texas at Arlington to play basketball and complete his studies. Orlando graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Civil Engineering and Management. While working towards his Masters Degree, Orlando worked as a Transportation Engineer at CH2M HILL/JACOBS, the world’s leader in engineering consulting. He was part of the design team of the Collin County Outer Loop, FM2478, I-35E, I-10, SH-135, SH-289, US-82 and US-8. Upon completion of his Masters Degree in Construction Management, Orlando joined the City of Dallas as a Project Manager with the Department of Public Works. He directed multi-million-dollar contracts and managed the Design and Construction of multiple construction projects. Orlando’s passion for engineering and construction led to the desire to create LaForte. His mission is to deliver high quality projects that build strong relationships with clients, provide career opportunities and continue his father’s legacy.
